The Re-emergence of the City Cowboys When you deal with livestock the size of rodeo animals, there's no way to assure completely the elimination of all potential injuries. However, the DLSAU Betan wranglers in these photos offered a means to raise community safety awareness as well as demonstrate the correct handling of rodeo animals.
"In significance to the study of
Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Animal Science, proper
restraining of animals is very important, and in this case we
learned from the cattle, in a more challenging and competitive way,
with our safety-comes-first mindset, passion, style, and of course,
considerations for the welfare of the animals. After so many years,
an Aranetan tradition of Rodeo was again brought to life on
January
29-30, 2007 by the Beta Sigma Fraternity that made us the pride of
the university for its 63rd Foundation Celebration. The De La
Salle – Araneta University, College of Veterinary Medicine and
Agricultural Sciences was very thankful and congratulated the Beta
Sigma Fraternity for the success of the Rodeo competition, which was the
highlight of the university foundation celebration." --
