Sis With The Kids The Sis With The Kids Project of the Sigma Beta Alumnae Manila East Assembly last December 2, 2006 at Tahanang Walang Hagdan was truly a great success. The Sigma Betans, supported by the Beta Sigma Manila East, offered their gift of love in the spirit of the holidays.
Pasig Medical Mission Manila East, Medical Caravan Group, and Singles for Christ (SFC) collaborated in the medical mission held at Barangay Bulagan, Manggahan, Pasig on November 4, 2006. The services for approximately a crowd of 300 covered medical check-up, dental extractions, ophthalmic check-up and free reading glasses, ECG check up, anti-rabies vaccinations, and free legal consultations. Brod Dr. Buddy Quililan and Brod Dr. EC Valera were co-chairmen for the medical mission.
Sta. Mesa Medical Mission The Sta. Mesa medical mission was carried out at Zone 201, Barangay 59 V Mapa Extension, Sta. Mesa on June 11, 2006. This is another activity that showed the energy of the leaders and members of Manila East and their commitment to doing noble deeds.
You are so SWEET, you've got a FAT heart, babe... can't you SEE? The Beta Sigma Fraternity Alumni Association (Manila East) on March 26, 2006 had its first major activity for 2006 You are so SWEET, you've got a FAT heart, babe... can't you SEE?, with its theme OUR VISION, ONE MISSION... A HEALTHY NATION at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. Activities on site were: free blood sugar and/or cholesterol determination, medical consultations (adult), dental consultations/tooth extraction, eye consultations, ECG (electrocardiogram), legal consultations, and blood drive. This event was well-participated and supported by the leaders and members as well of Manila East in cooperation with Philippine National Red Cross and Law Offices of Cruz, Abarca & Bugaring. GP Toto Mallonga coordinated the event with Buddy Quililan, Ed Noveloso, and EC Valera leading the medical team.
Cool Water, Clean Air
On January 19, 2006, 500
cyclists including those from Department of Environment and Natural
Resources participated in an advocacy fun bike ride from the Lung
Center of the Philippines at the eastern end of Quezon Ave. near the
Quezon Memorial Circle to Barangay Cuyambay in Tanay, Rizal for a
total distance of 42 kilometers. The BIKE FOR CLEAN AIR, BIKE FOR
HEALTHY LUNGS, BIKE TO A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT event was supported by MMDA Governor Bayani. The keynote speakers were Brod Ramon Paje,
Undersecretary of DENR, and Secretary of Health Francisco Duque. The
Philippine Biodiesel Association, through Brod Cris Michelena
(advocate/convenor), participated in this project (Source: Victor
